Ray Marskell 

Ray currently leads on partnerships for the City of London Police as a Chief Inspector. He joined CoLP in 2016 after serving in the Metropolitan Police Service for 23 years. 

Ray has worked across various roles within his policing career including neighbourhood policing, counter terrorism, firearm policing and international training and development. He was also part of the Commissioners team that designed and implemented the forces policing plan and has been the operational lead for Project Servator.  

Ray has a real passion for partnership working and has been integral to further building on the strong relationships that exist with various sectors across the city which include the security industry and business improvement districts. As part of his partnership’s role Ray has recently supported the forces ambitions to improve safety for women and girls across the Square Mile by introducing welfare and vulnerability training / Ask for Angela in the city.   

Ray in addition to being a committee member at CoLCPA sits on the advisory board for Crimestoppers and supports the College of Policing by peer reviewing other forces to improve standards Nationally. Ray is also a member of the security institute where he looks to improve information sharing and best practice across policing and the security industry.  

Ray has been commended numerous times throughout his career for leadership, bravery and dedication to duty following terrorist incidents within the UK.
