    Following the 2017 London Bridge attack it became clear that key lessons could be learnt about how businesses prepare for, react during and then respond to a major incident. Having been responsible for supporting the business community in the aftermath of the 2017 and 2019 attacks, Tom will take us through some of the learnings that have been identified to help businesses be more resilient and mitigate the impact of an attack. As well as the role businesses can play in supporting the emergency services and the wider community.

    Speaker: Stuart Wortley, Partner - Eversheds
    Urban explorers continue to present challenges to the security industry particularly in relation to tall buildings and major construction sites in London. Stuart Wortley of Eversheds Sutherland has unrivalled experience in this field having obtained over 25 injunctions from the High Court to restrain trespass since 2018. His team also advised on the 2 leading cases of contempt of court arising from such cases - including the case which resulted in George King-Thompson being imprisoned after climbing The Shard in July 2019. Stuart will discuss the problems associated with urban exploring in 2020.

    Speaker: Melissa Dark – National Casualty Bureau Co-ordinator
    Melissa is an experienced Casualty Bureau Manager for City of London Police having deployed on a number of tragic incidents including, but not exhaustive; Westminster, London Bridge one and two, Manchester arena and Grenfell.
    Melissa has taken up the appointment of National Casualty Bureau Coordinator, working for the National Police Chiefs’ Council portfolio for Disaster Victim Identification, Casualty Bureau and most recently Excess Deaths lead by Deputy Chief Constable Jane Gyford.
    Melissa will present on her current role, the structure, purpose and intention of these portfolios – highlighting practical examples from incidents.
